Pupil Behaviour Policy
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to outline the expected behaviours and responsibilities of all pupils participating in activities at ELDA Theatre Academy. This policy aims to create a positive, respectful, and safe environment for everyone involved.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all pupils participating in any activities, workshops, rehearsals, or performances organized by ELDA Theatre Academy.
3. General Principles
- Respect: Pupils must treat all staff, volunteers, and fellow participants with respect and courtesy.
- Inclusivity: Discrimination, bullying, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated. Everyone has the right to participate in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Responsibility: Pupils are expected to take responsibility for their actions and behaviour.
4. Expected Behaviour
- Attendance and Punctuality: Pupils should attend all scheduled activities and arrive on time.
- Participation: Pupils are encouraged to actively participate and engage in all activities.
- Cooperation: Pupils should cooperate with staff, volunteers, and fellow participants, following instructions and working together as a team.
- Respect for Property: Pupils must respect the theatre group’s property and the property of others. Any damage caused intentionally will be addressed appropriately.
5. Unacceptable Behaviour
- Disruptive Behaviour: Any behaviour that disrupts activities or affects the enjoyment and safety of others is unacceptable.
- Bullying and Harassment: Bullying, harassment, or any form of abusive behaviour will not be tolerated and will be dealt with seriously.
- Substance Abuse: The use of alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
6. Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviour
- Warnings: Minor breaches of this policy may result in verbal warnings.
- Parental Involvement: For repeated or serious breaches, parents or guardians will be informed and involved in addressing the behaviour.
- Suspension or Expulsion: In cases of severe or persistent unacceptable behaviour, pupils may be suspended or expelled from the theatre group.
7. Reporting Concerns
- Pupils and parents are encouraged to report any concerns about behaviour to a member of staff or the designated safeguarding person.
8. Review and Amendments
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.
